The immediate focus, is on natural winemaking, using organically grown with completely zero preservatives impurities.

Up to now the amount of sulfur used, is the least possible.

The selection of the grapes is made bunch by bunch, and we exercise the most strict quality control, from the beginning of the harvest.

The valley, of the ancient river Enipea, is an ideal area for growing vines, since it is stretching to the ground created, by the flow of the river for thousands of years, and the composition of the soil, is sandy and clay ,with great drainage of rainwater.

The sunshine and soil, moisture are optimal creating ideal conditions for the cultivation of vines. The air movement, is constant during the summer period and functions as a natural air-conditioning resulting in the grapevines, not to stop their growing operation around the clock for the benefit of the quality of the grapes

Due to the specific soil moisture and its unique elements consistency, the vines are able to send their root deep enough in the ground where develops a rare micelle. This micelle functions and lives from sugar that consumes from the roots of the vine, and at the same time injects the vine with a unique mixture of minerals and trace elements that the vine uses against diseases and during the maturation of the grapes they feed the grapes with minerals. These are the reasons that give this excellent quality to our wines.

The winery is located within the vineyards in order to secure the best highlight of all the qualities that the grapes can offer. They have modern high-tech equipment, knowledge and experience. They have installed energy systems so that the carbon footprint is zero. This comprises of a 100KW photovoltaic for electricity production with annual production 150,000KWh and geothermal installed capacity of 150 kilowatt power.

Saving at least 40,000 kwh per year - They are proud to claim that for each Brintziki estate bottle consumed environmental pollution tends to be nil.

Ecology means being able to live together and to collaborate with the flora and fauna without being destructive.

This for us is our main philosophy.

The 2007 fire destroyed the flora and much of the fauna of Ilia. This fact has affected us all. For this reason we have joined forces and work with target actors who have undertaken the task to restore a part of this disaster but also to create the appropriate defenses to prevent major disasters again. All of us in Brintziki estate produce wine, a product connected with culture and our history.

We created in our premises an open theatre with a capacity of about 200 seats for cultural events, concerts and seminars to promote the idea of ecology. At the same time we are about to finish building a small hotel to offer hospitality to people interested in wine tourism – agro tourism. Plus we are ready to launch a new product worldwide in order to raise money for the reforestation of historical landscapes.

BRINTZIKI ESTATE

Brintziki Estate is located in the western Peloponnese, in the village of Lanzoi in the area of Ancient Olympia, the birthplace of the Olympic games and one of the most sacred places in ancient Greece.

The Brintziki Family started the establishment of the winery in 1994. The vision is the creation of unique wines in which the special characteristics of the region famous for its viticulture are clearly visible. Its clay soils, combined with the moisture of the rivers, create an ideal microclimate.

The indigenous varieties that thrive are Roditis , Tinaktorogos , Malagouzia , Fileri , Assyrtiko (white varieties) and Augustiatis , Agiorgitiko and Merlot (red varieties).

Cultivation is done organically.

THE GREEN WINERY

In 2012 the Brintziki Estate was designated the first green winery in Greece. The exploitation of geothermal energy , as well as the use of photovoltaic systems , contributed to this characterization .

The geothermal energy covers the cooling and heating needs of the tanks and the premises, while the photovoltaic unit ensures the electricity needs of the winery.

In this way the Brintziki Estate determines its ecological and environmentally friendly operation , producing organic wines that tend to have a zero energy footprint .

We were born in this place, people and vines and some of the oldest and greatest ideas in the world.
In this ancient land of Olympia, from generation to generation we pass on a tradition that began almost four thousand years ago...
the evolution and the technologies came but the same passion and unquenchable love for our land and its fruits remained inside us.

We cultivate our vineyards with the care and passion that have kept history alive in our memories. We let nothing water our soil that we could not drink ourselves, and let nothing spray our grapes that would not let us taste their flesh above the vine that bore them.
We grow certified organic... and this is the modern expression of what our grandparents and great-grandparents have been doing for thousands of years. We do the same thing that made the wine and varieties of Olympia famous, throughout human history.
We use modern technologies and in fact the winery and all the facilities at the Britziki estate are the only ones in Greece with an absolutely zero energy footprint.
We use solar energy and geothermal energy for all our infrastructure needs and leave nature untouched by our activities.

Everything we create is controlled by the best winemaking technologies, the production conditions are weighed with absolute precision and every parameter is determined in meticulous detail. Temperatures, humidity, time... are all subject to a series of checks and rechecks, with methods that are at the cutting edge of technology...
But there comes that moment when you have to let things take their natural course.

You have to let the excellent oak barrels converse with the wine. To exchange aromas and myths... to emerge secret flavors. Let weddings and celebrations become mysteries and exuberances of ancient spirits.
And you have to wait for the dances and the love affairs of the elves in the barrels to calm down.

I was once told that if you have a climate, an olive tree and a piece of land to stand on, you can build the whole world from scratch.
